'Bells of freedom' hushed in Sudan press crackdown (AFP)

A Sudanese man reads a newspaper as he smokes a cigarette in the capital Khartoum as fears of tighter press freedom in the wake of South Sudan's secession are proving justified with several Sudanese newspapers closed this month and numerous journalists on trial.
